1. Make your own judgements and stand by them.
I have found that in most cases, someone will question your thoughts or decisions when it comes down to business ideas. Don’t let them!
Maybe you have had some kind of inspiration that you feel is a great idea, but when you mention it to someone else, they are quick to tell you that it won’t work. Or you are wasting your time. Don’t Listen to them, its your life so make your own decisions and stand by them.
2. Accept responsibility for yourself and your decisions.
What is it about society today? Whenever anything goes wrong it is always someone else’s fault. We seem to live in a world where everyone passes the buck. If they can’t find anyone else to blame they make out that its due to some trauma they suffered as a child
Come on people, accept your responsibilities. If you accept responsibility for your own actions then it shows that you’re in control of your life, and in control of your own destiny. if you make a wrong decision, then accept that you did and learn from it. Once you decide to take responsibility for your own life and for your actions then you will be in control of your own future.
3. Accept and understand your fears
What scares you? If you know what scares you then you can start to develop ways to overcome that fear and do something about it. Never let fear stop you from progressing, fear is mainly based on not knowing and you can conquer it, once you know exactly what it is you fear.
4. Become a learner
Always try to better yourself by learning new things. People who sit in front of the television for hours and hours every evening being entertained are just wasting their lives to the brain altering thinking machine. Television is turning the nations of the world into what can only be described as mind numbed zombies, they are told what they should do with their lives, how to cook, what car to drive, what to watch, when to laugh, what to eat, drink and what to think about other people. While they are sitting there being told what to do, they could actually be doing something that will help them better their own lives. Start a course, read a book or research something online, learn something new and create a new you.
5. Don’t give up
Not giving something up can be just as hard as trying to give something up. If you are going to succeed in any venture then you need to be determined and not give up until you have succeeded. Nothing worth having or worth doing is easy; it never has been and never will be. You need to be prepared to work hard for what you want and to expect that you will only get what you want if you are prepared to work hard for it. Be determined, work hard and don’t give up.
6. Become thick skinned
It always amazes me how people love to try and pull someone down to their own level as soon as they think they are becoming successful. If you are going to make a success of yourself, then be aware that certain people will try and do this. You will hear stories about yourself that aren’t true, you will get nasty emails and posts online and you will get people trying to steal your ideas. The only answer is to accept that they will happen and to learn to ignore it. Success comes at a price and this is certainly part of the cost.
7. Be wary of others.
I have heard this said by a few business people and I have to add it to my list. There are many unscrupulous people out there who are prepared to do almost anything when it comes down to making money. Always be aware of this and make sure you protect yourself from the harm others can do to your business.
8. Be a Do er
The world is full of thinkers and mighters, I was thinking I might, I think I will and I might are all things that will get you nowhere. To motivate myself to do things I sometimes use the ‘Nike’ tag line, ‘Just do it’, this is a great motivational line and is something that will help get things done when you feel lacking in motivation. Learn to become a do er and get doing.
9. Have a plan
Do you know what you want? Have you made a plan? If you haven’t then, ‘just do it’. Get a pen and paper and jot down your ultimate goal, once you have done this give yourself a realistic time frame to get to your goal and then start splitting it down into achievable chunks’ years, months, weeks and then days. Now you have a plan you can follow that will take you to your goal, all you need to do is follow the plan.
10. Believe in yourself
